On May 6, 1961, one very fine day, George Timothy Clooney was born in Lexington, Kentucky. This gorgeous hunk comes by his handsome appearance naturally. For years, his father, famous broadcaster and award winning journalist, Nick Clooney had almost every woman in the greater Cincinnati viewing area addicted to the local news. Women across the nation tuned in to see Nick hosting American Movie Classics for several years, also. Nina Bruce Warren Clooney, George's mother, is a former beauty queen, as well. In fact, Nick was the pageant emcee when Nina was crowned first runner up for Miss Kentucky. It must have been love at first sight; they were married in 1959.
Nick Clooney's great grandparents, Nicholas Clooney and Bridget Byron, immigrated to America from Ireland. George and his older sister, Ada, had a strict Roman Catholic upbringing. There were many other bit parts and roles in failed television pilots. In 1994, he landed the career changing role as "Dr. Doug Ross" on ER. In 1999, he left the series to pursue his filmmaking career.
With his freshly earned recognition and stardom, George began to receive many attractive movie offers. From Dusk til Dawn, The Peacemaker, Full Tilt Boogie, and One Fine Day are of some his early films. In 1997, George starred in Batman & Robin. Out of Sight, Three Kings, and The Perfect Storm preceded his charismatic performance in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" Playing the part of Danny Ocean, Clooney joined an all star cast in "Ocean's Eleven," in 2001. George decided to expand his horizons and venture into the fields of writing, directing, and producing. Kilroy, Fail Safe, Welcome to Collinwood, Far from Heaven, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Syriana, Rumor Has It, Michael Clayton, Leatherheads, and The Men Who Stare at Goats are some of his more successful ventures. To the dismay of enamored women everywhere, George Clooney has been romantically involved with Elisabetta Canalis, a beautiful Italian model, since 2009.
